Taipei Metropolitan Mass Rapid Transit

Taipei city government dedicates itself to plan, design and construct a high quality and efficient rapid transit system allowing easy travel in Taipei.

The entire transit plan is to:

  1. Construct safe rapid transit
  2. Pursue a human-oriented rapid transit system
  3. Build a rapid transit system using high quality engineering, create a sustainable  rapid transit environment and forge a new world-class metropolis.

Currently, 114.6 km of MRT lines have been completed for commercial service, while 111.6 km of rail lines are under planning, and the following are currently under construction:

  1. To continue implementing construction of the Xinzhuang line.
  2. To expedite construction of the Xinyi and Songshan lines.
  3. To expedite construction of the Circular line Phase I and the Tucheng extension to Dingpu.

Classification:
This includes any project that provides a dedicated guideway for (exclusive or shared) operation of transit vehicles. Both rail and bus projects may fall in this category.
