Project Description
Started operating since 1999, Andaman Cannacia Resort and Spa is an international standard qualified 114-room hotel in Phuket, Thailand. Our facilities consist of 7 buildings surrounded by reserved plants and trees found on the site, which are operated 24-hour everyday (8,760 hours/year).
Due to the amount of hotels in Phuket are dramatically increased every year against with electricity producing is limited. This scenario originated our responsibility in energy sustainability and energy saving. We determined to practice our services along with sustainability and energy saving program. Thus, we participated in energy saving conferences and trainings to educate ourselves in this field. Investment in technology and knowledge started in 2015 by optimizing hot water system and replace Fluorescent with LED T8. We trained our staff giving awareness in energy conservation. For the past three years through energy conservation activities (both investment and non-investment), we have reduced energy consumption by 209,291 kWh, which is equal to 152.05 Ton CO2 emissions. The reduction of energy consumption gave us a total savings approximately 730,288 baht with the average ROI of 1.74 per year.
We also conducted various activities, both internal and external, to help people gain awareness in sustainability. We studied how we consume energy and explored possibilities to reduce our energy consumption. This report is the result of our determinations.
Estimated Savings
Since 2014, Andaman Cannacia Resort and Spa has been implementing energy saving policies and activities. Ms. Lily Tanetvisetkul Managing Director, used a budget of 1.27 million Baht for staff training (People), optimize work procedure (Process) and replace equipment with high efficiency (Place). Our success in energy saving program is a result from participations of every level of our staffs, implementing of 3P (People, Place, Process) and application of Technology, such as real-time Energy Information System (EIS). These budget can reduce total energy consumption more than 209,291 kWh.
