The Ministry of Education (MOE) advocated two major facilities construction projects “Restoration and Maintenance of Ecological Environment” and “Sustainable Building”, in order to establish a progressive, safe, healthy and people-oriented learning environment. In terms of software, it innovated unique teaching materials that could showcase each school’s special features. Through collaborations with neighboring schools, a tight environmental education alliance network  has been formed, thereby creating a distinct public space that characterizes its community.

Since 2002, through integration of courses and sustainable projects, teachers and students have a better grasp concerning the importance of sustainability; an integrated workshop was held annually to further improve sustainability knowledge. In addition, sustainable campus tours allow the public to share in the 10-year experience of building sustainable campuses. Sustainable concepts such as energy recycling, water recycling, energy conservation and carbon reduction are effectively integrated by multiple strategies.
